'Encore'
is a 'social' musical card game, involving two teams of any size
(typically 3-10 per side).
A card (with a single word) is drawn.
(Someone on) the 1st team must sing part of a song containing that word.
(Just 8 consecutive words, including the word that was drawn.)
(Someone from) the 2nd team must sing a different song containing
the same word.
Play alternates, volley-ball style,
until one team gives up, i.e. cannot think of any more songs with that word.
(Time limits may be applied as desired.)
The word is 'awarded' to the last successful team,
who then draws the next card.
Important: nobody has to sing well! The real fun of the game is
the collaborative "oh, what was that song about such-and-such" brainstorming
that happens within a team.
(That, and the laughter that invariably follows each round!)
This page is an experimental, simplified, on-line version of 'Encore'.
It assumes that all of the players have joined a
Zoom or other shared audio/video
meeting.
Once the meeting is established, one person should share this window with everyone else.
Someone should be the "game master", just to keep the game moving, call time, etc.
The game master must choose a name for this group's game
below, and press "Go".
